Privacy notice

How we handle personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect and why

When you apply for a trade account we collect your company registration details, a contact person's name, email and phone number, banking details, and copies of identifying documents (a director's ID and proof of your business, such as a CIPC registration certificate). We collect this only to verify that you are a genuine business and to set up and run your trade account — nothing is used for any other purpose, and nothing is sold or shared with anyone outside this process.

How long we keep it

Keeping it safe

Access to customer and application data is limited to staff who need it for their role. Banking details are encrypted. ID documents are stored outside any public web address and can only be opened by a staff member with permission, which is logged.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to: see what personal information we hold about you; correct it if it's wrong; or delete it. If you have a trade account, you can do the first and last of these yourself from your dashboard under Account. Where the law requires us to keep financial records for longer, we'll anonymise your personal details while keeping the transaction records the law requires.

You can also lodge a complaint with South Africa's Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za) if you believe your information has been mishandled.
